- The Town of Mount Hope is working on a grant proposal
for refurbishing the former elementary school
- The dog park at the town park is not a “dead issue” yet;
the town still plans to go ahead with that eventually

this Sunday, Sept 21st, the Rotary will have a ceremony at the
Town Park at 1:30 to dedicate the International Peace Poll recently

Budget workshops will be held on the 29th and 30th
with department heads
- Lou Dodd announced that the FD lawsuits
against the Village and Otisville Firefighters was settled in court on
Sept. 9th (There appears to be no confirmation of this from any
other source.)
SUMMER RECREATION
- Met with Lisa
to review budget and draft orders to replenish supplies for next year’s
program.
- Will place
orders by end of next week.
- I let Ms.
Southerland know that as soon as final bills have been paid, we will hold
our year end meeting and any surplus money remaining will be returned to
the Town at the established ratio.
AUDIT ASSIGNMENTS
- All financial
CAP and annual report audit assignments have been completed; memos were
submitted to the mayor, with copies to all concerned parties.
- Communications
equipment audit is ongoing

- Everything looks fine as far as Bob can see
Kenneth Coppola’s Report:
PARKS
- The agreement between the Youth Football and Little League seems
to be working out. Ken hasn’t received any complaints.
- The DPW is doing a nice job of mowing the parks.
- Ken has not had a chance to put a sign on the wooden train yet,
but he will be doing so as there have been complaints of children climbing
on top.
CELLEBRATIONS
- Tentative date for the Christmas tree lighting is December 6th.
The Presbyterian Church Choir will be performing this year.
- The Patriot Tree will probably be Sunday, December 7th
to coincide with Pearl Harbor Day

Ike worked to develop a new 2-Sided ID card for
Fire Department. Need to schedule time
with Fire Chief to take ID photos before cards can be issued.

Bank Reconciliation CAP Assignment has been completed. Monthly reconciliations for all accounts
are being properly done with
appropriate documentations on file where necessary. Only recommendation to
consider: at years end, if possible move
contents to a smaller binder, this may help to free up some much needed shelf
space.

& R STREETLIGHTS
·
On September 9th, 2014 we received
notice about a streetlight problem on the corner of Highland and Borden
Avenues. It was reported to O&R via the Municipal Portal Program,
confirmation received at 5:20pm September 9th. As of September 16, 2014 light is still
listed as an active work request.

On Friday September 19th, will be attending the Orange & Rockland
“Municipal Information Exchange”
seminar in New Hampton at the Fire Training Center.
-System Enhancements that provide accurate
and timely damage assessment,
estimated time of restoration and municipal
information on the outage map.
-Infrastructure enhancements, Smart Grid
Technology.
-Mobile App, Municipal Portal, and Priority
Response Group.

ATTORNEY REPORT: Excused
DPW REPORT:
- Water Report ; Village Average Daily Usage 63,864 gallons, State
Correctional Facility Average Daily Usage 126,223 gallons
- DPW crew cut brush by the bridge on Main Street and Highland
Avenue
- DPW crew is working on painting the sign posts around the Village
- Line painting around the Village has been completed
- Crew has been working on the salt shed repairs that were needed.
Getting ready to do the staining as weather permits
- Currently working on the 2002 Chevy truck in the shop. We have
removed the rotted body and re installing the rack body from the old 1997
Ford. This will give us an additional sander and snow plow
- Truck #9 is still at Arkel motors. Frank spoke to Arkel today,
they are almost finished. Frank let them know we need the truck back ASAP
- Truck #2 is still at Regional Truck Service. Frank spoke to Dane today.
Regional will be pulling the transfer case out of the truck today to send
out for testing.
- The water main replacement project on Emboden Avenue will have to
be postponed due to the Orange County Department of Health’s revised
regulations. We will need approved Engineer’s plans and specifications as
well as a flow test on the hydrants.
- Frank received a call today from Sanitation Equipment regarding
the refurbishing of the Garbage Truck. All parts are in. Frank is looking
at taking the Truck down to them on October 6th. He has a call
in to Middletown to see if they can help us.
- Frank spoke to Mike Grand Holm about the drilling for the water
service at 61 State Street. We are still waiting for DOT approval so we
can schedule the drilling.
FIRE CHIEF’S REPORT:
- 3 Calls so far in September: Water Leak at Victory Lane, 4 year
old with a bee sting, and a MVA mutual aid for Howells
- 4 new firefighters taking firefighter 1 this week, 4 members went
to radio training class
- NYS inspections have been done on all trucks
- Chief is working on paperwork for FOIL request
MAYOR’S COMMENTS:
- Unfortunately, the Emboden Avenue water main project is on hold
due to new Orange County Department of Health regulations. The Village
Engineers will go ahead with survey and start getting paperwork and plans
in order, replacement will be done next summer.
- Mayor Wona received a memorandum from Diane and Ike regarding Bank
Rec. CAP assignments. All looked well.
- Mayor Wona also received a memorandum from Diane and Robert
regarding the Annual Financial report. All looked well on this report as
well. The Clerk/Treasurer and Village Accountant were commended.
- Mayor Wona and Diane Loeven attended the 100th Birthday
party of Marge Bonanto over the weekend. They delivered a card from the
Board members. Mayor Wona also delivered a proclamation proclaiming
September 16th 2014 Marge Bonanto Day in the Village of
Otisville.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION:
- Gary Ketcham asked if he could remove the old water meter
transmitter from the side of his house. Frank advised that would be OK.
- Mike Coppola mentioned a street light across from the taxi office
on Route 211 goes off and on during the night.
- Tysan Lerner gave presentation including two brief videos
regarding the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
