Diane Loeven’s Report:
TOWN OF MOUNT HOPE & MHPD
- Last Saturday – Open House
at Old School – over 100 residents toured the school
- Reminder to RSVP to Sherri at MHPD if you plan to
attend the breakfast to be held May 30th to honor Officer
Norman Mann on his retirement after 37 years of service
SUMMER RECREATION
- Late registration
held May 6th
- Approximately
140 children registered
- May hold one
final registration hour
- Once
registration is completed I give a preliminary planning budget for Mayor
and Town Supervisor for review
- Town Board voted
to allow use of Town Park on Fridays from July 11th through
Aug. 8th for summer rec. program
- Have been in
contact with Dept of Health re: development of required Infection Control
Program; they have been very
helpful

AUDIT ASSIGNMENTS
- Ike and I to
work on quarterly CAP audit of cash receipts before end of May

Robert Bennett’s Report:
- Building Inspector has lots of activity for Decks, Pools and
Garages this month
- Power Wagon sold for $5,400.00
Kenneth Coppola’s Report:
- The Park Committee has a meeting on May 22nd at 7:00PM
at the park, anyone can attend. They will be discussing the Park Grant
- Need to set up a meeting for the Yard Sale Committee. The yard sale
will be held on August 2nd
Ike Palmer’s Report:
- The DCO had 3 written warnings in the month of April, all of which
were resolved in the allotted time
- There was 1 confirmed rabid raccoon with confirmed human exposure
- The MS4 questionnaire was submitted to McGooey, Hauser, and
Edsall. All corrections to the original questionnaire that Ike submitted
have been made
- Ike will be attending the O&R street light portal training
program on May 19th
- Ike and Diane are working on their CAP assignments
ATTORNEY REPORT:
- Howard received communications regarding making a few minor
changes to the DCO agreement. We need to spell out whether the fines are
going to go to the Town or Village
DPW REPORT:
- Water Report for April 2014; Village daily usage 57,000, Otisville
Correctional 117,443
- Bulk Trash pick-up was completed. We had 36.3 tons of trash, 2.4
tons of tires, 2.09 tons of scrap metal. We received a check for the scrap
metal in the amount of $376.00
- On Wednesday May 6th, the contaminated soil behind the
fire house was taken away by Deep Green. Frank e-mailed the paper work to
Steve to finish the closure report for the DEC
- The grass has been cut at the Ball Fields, the Veterans Memorial
Park, Fire and the intersections
- The Schobl Street project will be finished last week in May and
first week in June
- Frank spoke to John Bowman, the contractor for the new house on
Schobl Street regarding the drainage problem. Frank informed him he has to
cut a ditch half-way up the driveway and install rip-rap stone down to the
existing catch basin.
- On Wednesday May 14th, Frank, Mayor Wona, Mike Weeks of
Orange County and the Village Engineer met on Seybolt Avenue regarding the
cross cuts in the road for the CDA water main project. The County has no
problem with this plan and is willing to work with us throughout the
project.
- There is still another fuel tank to be removed at the fire house.
There is about 800 gallons of fuel oil in the tank. If we want to keep the
fuel, it would have to be stored ion 55 gallon drums. We don’t know how
much water is in the fuel. A motion was made to allow Frank to explore
possible avenues to have the tank pumped out and have the fuel disposed of
properly.
FIRE CHIEF’S REPORT:
- There will be 2 CPR classes in June if anyone wants to take the
class they are welcome. If the Summer Rec. directors need certification
they can take the class
- There are five members signed up for Firefighter 1 training. They
are waiting for the confirmations to see when they will be taken. There is
a long waiting list.
MAYOR’S COMMENTS:
- Orange County has contracted with a company to put larvicide in
the catch basins around the county. Village of Otisville is on the
schedule for around August 11, 2014
- We will be having a workshop on June 12th at 6:00p.m.to
discuss the Building Dept. “sign-off” sheet. If there is anything else
anyone would like to discuss on that date we will add that to the agenda.
- June 3rd will be the first of the monthly DPW and Fire
Dept. monthly workshop meetings. DPW at 5:00p.m. And Fire Dept. at 5:30
p.m.

A. Surplus Fire Vehicles: We are still waiting
for the title for the Mini-pumper. The Power Wagon Auction Closed on Wednesday
night. The Final Bid was $5,400.00
B.CDA Grant Radio Read Meter Project Phase 2 – All
of the meters have been changed with the exception of about 7 vacant houses. The grant expires on May 31, 2014. As far as the vacant houses, we will add the
meter charge onto the final bill.

NEW BUSINESS:
A. New Computer Server for
Village Hall offices New Server will cost approximately $2,000.00 plus 80.00
for labor. Old server is over 10 years old and lacks the capacity to function
properly with the programs being used in the office.
